Turning 65 soon?

When you turn 65, it is important to understand the benefits of Medicare and how to enroll. Medicare is a government-funded health insurance program that provides coverage to individuals who are 65 years or older. The program is divided into four parts: Part A, Part B, Part C, and Part D. Part A covers hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care. Part B covers doctor visits, outpatient services, and medical supplies. Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, is a combination of Parts A and B, and may also offer additional benefits such as dental and vision. Part D provides coverage for prescription drugs.

It is important to enroll in Medicare during your initial enrollment period, which is a seven-month period that begins three months before your 65th birthday month and ends three months after your birthday month. If you do not enroll during this period, you may face a penalty for late enrollment. To enroll, you can visit the Social Security Administration (SSA) website or call them directly at 1 (800) 772-1213.
